Dorothy was born February 19, 1924 in Battle Creek, Nebraska to Clyde and Clara (Smith) Baker. She grew up there, graduating from Battle Creek High School.

After moving to Fremont, she worked for the Mead Ordnance Plant, and then also for Swan's Café (on north Broad St), the Pathfinder Hotel, First United Methodist Church, Grampy's Restaurant, and Shortstop East. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church and it's Lydia Circle. She was active in the choir and a bible study group. She also served a term as President of the American Baptist Women.

On June 29, 1961, Dorothy was married to Rudolph N. Peterson in Fremont.

1 daughter - Linda (husband John) Risch of Monterey Park, Calif.

4 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday (Febr. 26, 2010) at the First Baptist Church. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Music Ministry of the First Baptist Church and to the Dodge County Humane Society.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Thursday (Febr. 25th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM. Visitation will continue at the church Friday morning for an hour before the service.

    So sorry to hear of you loss. I was just thinking about some of the people i used to work with at grampy's. I remember going to the air base to hear one of the sons play (sorry do not remember who) at one of the clubs there. I got lost on base and the MPs had to direct me to the club.     I'm so sorry this has to be an email tribute! I truly wish we could be there. Dode was much more than an Aunt. She was a second mother, a dear friend and consular.
