Lila was born October 19, 1940 in Fremont to Donald and Cleo (Peters) Hammond. She grew up in Fremont, graduating from Fremont High School in 1958. She also graduated from Alberta's School of Cosmetology in
Fremont, then worked for Alberta's, as well as for other beauty salons. The last 15 years of her working career, she operated her own business which was known as Scheer's Soft Tweeze.

On May 7, 1960, Lila was married in Fremont at Trinity Lutheran Church to James O. Scheer.

son - Jeffery and wife Jin Scheer of St. Louis, MO
3 daughters - Janno Scheer of Hawaii
LaRae Scheer of Fremont
Sherrie and husband Andrew Stough of Centerton, Arkansas
8 grandchildren - Cassandra, Alexandra, Rhianon, Jessica, Shelby, Noah, Hunter, and Maeson

Lila was preceded in death by a son Kelly in November of 1989, and by 2 brothers.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday (Febr. 13th, 2010) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel, Fremont, with the Rev. Dan Heuer of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be today (Friday, Febr. 12th) from 4 to 8 PM, and Saturday morning for an hour before the service.
