Freda Emma Koehler Johnson and her twin brother Fred were born July 10, 1911 in Oakland, Nebraska to Herman and Christiana 'Kindschuh' Koehler. She attended Pleasant Way country school district 62, and graduated from high school in Oakland in 1930. She was confirmed in 1926 in St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Lyons.

On October 3, 1935, she was married in Oakland to Elmer L. Johnson. To this union was born a daughter Dolores and a son Donald.

They lived on the family farm from 1935 until January of 1950 when they moved to Fremont. In Fremont, Freda worked as a secretary and manager of bookkeeping for Adams Motor Co. She also worked for Pfister's Hybrid Seed Co. and Midland Wood Co.

Freda was a member of Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont from 1950 until the present time. She was president and secretary and treasurer of the WELCA, and she was active in the church's Charity Circle.

Freda was preceded in death by her husband Elmer on December 2, 1997, and by her son Donald in August of 2007, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and her twin brother.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Tuesday (March 17th) in Sinai Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Melang officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sinai Lutheran Church.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be today (Monday - March 16th) from 3 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 PM. Visitation will also be at the church on Tuesday for an hour before the service.

    Freda was such a wonderful lady. She always enjoyed seeing my family and I in church and always wanted to give my brother and I a hug and tell us how great we are. She is in a great place, God Bless.
