June was born June 22, 1921 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to William and Cora (Miller) Keeley. She grew up on the farm near Blackwell, and graduated from high school there. She moved to Wichita, Kansas and attended a business college.

She met her husband to be, Howard E. Schneider, in Wichita. Howard was in the Army, stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and they were married in Fort Leavenworth in January of 1944. They moved to Fremont in 1963, having lived here previously. Howard died on Feb. 13, 1969.

Then on June 15, 1971, June was married to Earl Christensen. They lived on his farm north of Fremont until retiring and moving into Fremont in 1992.

June and Earl were members of Salem Lutheran Church of Fremont.

3 daughters - Brenda and husband Larry Kruse of Omaha
Colleen and husband Robert Pawling of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Karla and husband David Schloemer of Fremont
step-daughter - Lynda and husband Sam Vodvarka of Fremont
8 grandchildren
6 great grandchildren
2 sisters-in-law - Betty Weiss of Kenosha, Wisc.
Virginia Onserud of Kenosha
and numerous nieces and nephews

June was preceded in death by her first husband Howard Schneider, and by 2 brothers.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday (Dec. 31, 2008) in the Salem Lutheran Church of Fremont. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established .

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Tuesday (Dec. 30th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 PM. And there will be visitation at the church on Wednesday for an hour before the service.
