Gladys was born December 12, 1915 in rural Hooper to Nels and Fredericka 'Weigle' Nelson. She was baptized on December 30, 1922 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hooper. She grew up in the Hooper area, attended district 69 school and graduated from Hooper High School in 1933. On April 18, 1937 Gladys married Floyd White in Fremont. They were lifetime residents of Dodge County. Gladys was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Scribner, the Ladies Aid and served on the Altar Guild.

Daughter - Sandra and husband Randy Dames of Scribner
5 grandchildren - Anna Marie and husband Dave Rezac, John White, Michael and wife Diane Dames, Matthew and wife Amanda Dames, and Ehren and wife Melissa Dames.
13 Great grandchildren - Ben & Nate Rezac, Jordan, Taylor and Cameron White; Josiah, Karston, Leighton, Christian, Elissa, Jillian, Kelby and Kyle Dames.
Brother-in-law - Harry Hasemann of West Point
Sister-in-law - Bernice White of Hooper

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Floyd in August of 1984, parents, daughter-in-law Iona White, brothers Maynard and Edward, sister Edna Hasemann and an infant sister, grandson Mark Dale White and grand daughter-in-law Sara Peters White.

The funeral will be 9:30am Tuesday June 26 at the United Lutheran Church in Scribner. The Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntyre will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the United Lutheran Church, Scribner Good Samaritan Center or the Scribner Rescue Squad. Visitation will be on Monday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at the Scribner Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church in Scribner.
