He was born October 22, 1944 in Omaha to Lloyd and Irene (McCarthy) Westphalen. He lived most of his life in Fremont, graduating from Fremont High School.

Tom worked at Valley Products and Kelly Klosure until retiring in 2007. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and wood working, and taking care of his dogs.

Tom is survived by wife Terri
son Chris (Tamara) Westphalen of Auburndale, Florida
2 daughters Rhonda Westphalen of Albion
Rene (Tony Schnoor) Westphalen of Scribner
grandchildren Thomas and Nicholas Westphalen
Issiah, Jordan, Jessica, and Tanner Bauld
great grandson Jackson Bauld

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Irene Westphalen, his sister Patricia Novotny, and by his wife's parents Bill and Grace Taylor.

A memorial service will be 11 AM Tuesday (June 25th) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 to 7 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary. Memorials, in memory of Tom are suggested to the Dodge County Humane Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
