I remember Jan from ushering at the Lied. Although I didn't know her name, I remember her face and lovely smile. Our usher group was better for having her a member.
  2. Anne Melang-Thoren
I had the honor of working with Jan over the last 6 yrs. at United Lutheran, as Director of Music. She was kind, thoughtful, and shared her enthusiasm for music with our choir & congregation. I will probably always see the "far right" chapel chair in the alto section; as hers. It was my great honor, privilege, & pleasure to play piano & accompany for her, in her final days. To her lovely & loving family; please remember that God is with you now & always.

I was fortunate enough to get to know Jan as we were fellow members of the choir at United Lutheran Church. We also participated together in Bible Studies. Jan always had a smile. Always so friendly and genuine. I also had the privilege of singing with her in a trio (filling in for their regular third partner) along with my Mom, Carol Hansen which entertained at nursing homes. I will always remember Jan's laugh and our choir will be missing an integral part from here onward. But, I am comforted knowing that Jan has joined the Heavenly choir!

Jan and I both were Curves members. I really enjoyed working out with Jan when we happened to be there at the same time. She had such a wonderful personality and was such a kind hearted, good person. My prayers to your family.

Jan was my mom's college roomate but, to me, she was family and will always be part of my happy childhood memories.
  6. Terry Weaver
Always a smile. Always helpful. I will always remember Jan helping me, a complete unknown, during my first photo shoot at United Lutheran. She simple took charge. I will miss her.

I have many fond memories of the days in Aurora, CO where we worked and lived together. Sponsoring St. Mark's Luther League was one of her great joys. I'll always remember her sitting at the scoring table at high school games. God Bless you.

The good Lord has taken another happy and positive person. She always had a smile and good word for others. I enjoyed working with her at the Leid and looked forward to having her part of my aisle manager team.

I was fortunate to have been involved with Jan in a bible study. She was so kind, loving, smart and creative. What a joy to have known her and studied the scriptures with her.

So sorry to hear of Jan's death. When she first joined United Lutheran in Lincoln I found out that she had been a neighbor to my folks north of Fremont. She did a lot of work at our church. We knew a lot of the same people and my brother John knew her brother. Small world. She will really be missed at United by everyone.
