Omaha, NE Monday, October 6, 2014 I am so sorry to hear about uncle Calvin. I just found out from my sister. If I had known I would have been at the Memorial Service. I loved uncle Calvin. I remember when I worked at Schwesers, and he worked at the clothing store, I would go and visit him at my lunch hour. My prayers and thoughts are with your family God BlessN. Dwain Acker
Lincoln, NE Monday, October 6, 2014 Gaylord & Eileen et al Walraven Families:Since only a few of you know, I need to tell you:..
Thank you Lord for Cousin Cal - who I was Thankful to see at Church in Fremont when I visited back home.. From early in my life, I have deeply appreciated being accepted as a cousin,
Gaylord, you are among the last cousins to be able to remember any of the "why".. (One of your Dad's sisters was Agnes, who married my Uncle - Clyde Howery.). His parent's Jay & Jessie Belle Howery raised me until his death in 1944 & hers in 1948. "Our" Aunt Agnes became much more than Aunt when I was 16 & went to live with them.
. Even my Grandparents & I had attended many Walraven Picnics & Family events - which also included all the sister's families - Bill & Ethel Guenther, Clyde & Agnes Howery, Clyde & Hazel, Keeler & Richard & Leona Kildee.
Just needed to say Thank You - most especially because I can not be with you later today.
Dwain.

Columbus, NE Sunday, October 5, 2014 I met Calvin in 1989 when I was a sophomore at Fremont High School and was waitressing at Valentino's. Calvin and I have stayed connected through Christmas cards each year since then. He was a kind, special man and I feel privileged to have kept up corresponding with him for so many years.
