Daniel Curtis Spruiell, age 72, of Scribner passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha of complications from Parkinson's.

Daniel was born, April 1, 1945 in Livermore CA, on Easter. His parents were Marion 'Tex' Spruiell and Maxine (Babcock) Spruiell.

Dan attended Livermore High School. He played football all four years graduating in 1963 and then attended the University of New Mexico on an Athletic Scholarship.

After college Dan moved back to Livermore and worked with his father in Real Estate and then on his own. In 1997 he started working for Harbingers as their International Representative until 2015 when he retired.

Dan enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was accomplished at both and had made two 'Holes-in-one'.

Dan leaves behind his fiancée Anne Jung of Scribner, three sons Mark (Kelly) of Livermore, CA., Paul (Tammy) of Placentia CA., and Scott (Amie) of Tracy, CA, as well as nine grandchildren. He was looking forward to becoming a great grandpa in May.

Dan also leaves behind a brother Joe (Carolyn) of Yukon, OK., his twin sister Ann of Vacaville, CA., as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a memorial service at Celebration Christian Center in Livermore, CA. on Saturday January 27, and at United Lutheran Church in Scribner during the March 4th service.

Memorials in Daniel's name are suggested to the United Lutheran Church and the Scribner Rescue Squad, who have our deepest thanks.

    Dear Anne....It was with great sadness to hear of Dan's passing. He was so blessed to have you in his life and to have you with him these last years. The O'Donnell/Spruiell friendship spanned over 45 years as we helped one another through the good years and not so good years. Dan will always have a place in my heart. I will not be able to attend the service in Livermore but will think of all of you on that day. Love....Barbara
