Elaine was born June 25, 1925 in Fillmore, Missouri to Earl and Ada (Matlock) Lambright. She grew up there, and graduated from Fillmore High School. Elaine had been active in high school sports and played clarinet in their band. She then moved to Omaha where she was a secretary for the Martin Bomber Plant, and later she was a dispatcher for Bekins Van & Storage.

On August 1, 1948, she was married in Waterloo to George Skelton. The couple lived in Omaha where George worked for Swanson Foods. Then in the 1950's, they moved to Fremont when George was transferred here when Campbell Soup bought out Swanson Foods.

Elaine was a member of the First Christian Church where she had served as a deacon and elder. She was a member of their Christian Women's Fellowship, and she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was member of the Church Women United, a 'Lifetime' PTA member, a Dodge County Extension Club, and she had been an assistant with the Girl Scouts. She was a charter member of the Prairie Peace Makers quilting organization. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing. She like polka music, gardening, and ceramics. She was an expert seamstress and did alteration work for people.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband George in February of 2004, parents Earl and Ada Lambright, brother and his wife Eldon and Clista Lambright, and a brother-in-law Edward Jones.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Monday (May 16th, 2011) in the First Christian Church. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church and the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Sunday (May 15th) from 2 to 7 PM, with the family present from 3 to 5 PM.
