I spent many days with him when I was a girl and as a teenager. Even though I had grown distant in my older days, I never forgot how much he loved his grandchildren and all children. I remember fondly the days of when we would visit him at work or when we got to ride in his van - when he would help him tend his garden or the times I took refuge at his home during some bumps in my youth. Rest in peace Grampa.

I will always have many fond memories of Uncle Elbert and the many visits to Missouri their family made to visit us and ones we made to Bennington. I will see you again someday!!! Till then, rest in peace. Love your niece, Sarah (Lea) Fazio

I always enjoyed visiting with Elbert when he lived at the towers. We could talk and talk and before we knew it, an hour had past...then we celebrated Holy Communion! He knew and believed Jesus lived, died, and lives again for him! It was an honor and privilege to be one of his pastors during my time in Fremont. Forever family in Christ, Mike Meyer
