James L. Grasmick, age 84, of Fremont
Died Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Dunklau Gardens

Jim was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado and moved with his family to Tekamah, Nebraska the summer of 1955. He graduated from Tekamah High School in 1958. He attended Dana College in Blair for one year before enlisting in the Army. He married Carolyn Dean at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah on September 25, 1960. In July of 1965 he began working for the Omaha Fire Department. In 1982, the Family moved to Fremont, and he continued working for the Omaha Fire Department until his retirement in 1996 at 57 years of age. He kept busy working part time jobs, fishing, golfing and projects around the house and at Sinai Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son Rod Grasmick(Kim Engen & Family), Omaha, NE; daughter, Robyn(Matt) Lawson, Palm Bay, FL; grandson James(Jessica) Grasmick, Omaha, NE, Granddaughter Kylie Lawson, Melbourne, FL; great grandchildren, Jersey & Jordan Grasmick; brother Jake(Loruss) Grasmick, Bella Vista, Arkansas; Sister-in-Law Regena Dean, Lincoln, NE; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents Elma & Konrad Grasmick; In Laws Darlene & Walter Dean; brothers Larry & Sam; brother-in-Law Dennis & wife Marsha Dean; brother-in-law Donald Dean.

The memorial service will be 2pm, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Sinai Lutheran Church, 950 N. Pebble, Fremont, NE. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at church. Memorials to Sinai Lutheran Church.
