Esther was a dear friend and I will never forget her smile and friendship. Our connection goes way back to Pierce where she went to school with my parents. However, when Roma moved to Hooper we became very close. I loved visiting with her, wearing red hats with her, and talking about her grandchildren. I remember ElRay running to her rescue one night when Marissa locked herself in the bathroom while Esther was babysitting. It was all good and giant hugs were shared with everyone. I know her loss will be felt by everyone who has ever known her, but she is happy now in her new home. God has chosen to wrap His arms around her and bring her home. ElRay and I send our sympathy and love to the family she left behind. Know that she will always be held in high regard and will be missed. All our love, ELRay and Jeanne Buckendahl

Aunt Esther was always gracious, giving of herself, and had a smile for me whenever I visited them either on the farm, at home in Randolph, or at her residences in Hooper. She enjoyed chatting with the family and always tried to have some special light lunch for us, boysenberry dessert being her favorite and mine. I have many fond memories of staying with Uncle Ollie and Aunt Esther on the farm when I was growing up and having Ronnie and Roma try to keep us entertained whch was not always an easy chore. Aunt Esther had her candy dish in a specific place and always seemed to have it filled for anyone who came to visit. I visited Aunt Esther several weeks ago and she laughed just like she always did. I will always treasure the times that I spent visiting with her, learning about the ways of the farm, meeting their friends and neighbors, and just talking about things in general. As Roma said, "They must be having a big party up in heaven".
