Dorlene was born to James William 'Bill' and Edith 'Larson' Sager on February 25, 1926 in Oakland, NE. She was raised in a loving Christian family.
She attended Oakland Public Schools and Oakland High School through her junior year. She moved with her family to Hooper in 1943 and she graduated from Hooper High School in 1944. Part of God's plan for her life was meeting her spouse of 67 years. Wayne and Dorlene were married September 12, 1945 and began a life long partnership in the Hooper area. Farming, managing the trucking business, community and church activities kept her busy, yet her real calling and joy came from loving her family.
Dorlene is survived by her spouse Wayne of Hooper, daughters Dr. Ann Luther of Omaha, Sue and husband Kenton Meier of Fremont and Joy Luther of Lincoln.
Grandchildren Dr. Karen and husband Jonathan Rogers of Lynchburg, VA.; Kevin and wife Elizabeth Meier of Nashville, TN.; Kristen Fisher of Nashville, TN.;

Dorlene was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Edith Sager, parents-in-law Karl and Emma Luther, Brothers Floyd J. Sager and Dale W Sager, in-laws Dale and Sylvia Luther, John and Jackie Luther.
The funeral will be 10:30am Monday February 11 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hooper Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.
