Marvin was born March 25, 1935 in Washington County to Ernest and Paula (Langemeier) Plessing. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Winslow, and later confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church of Hooper.

He graduated from Uehling High School in 1952, and started farming with his father. Marvin was united in marriage to LaRae Panning on August 30, 1959 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Hooper. Marvin and LaRae farmed the Plessing family farm for 47 years, retiring to Fremont in 2005.

Marvin served on the Uehling School Board, St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Uehling) Council, and the boards of various farm organizations. Marvin and LaRae were featured on WOWT's Farm Family of the Week in 1965.

3 grandchildren Rachel and Sarah Plessing, and Dalton Rabe
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and brother Delbert.

The funeral service will be 10:30 Thursday (Febr. 6, 2014) at First Lutheran Church in Fremont (3200 E. Military) with the Rev. Charlie Axness. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church, Gentiva Hospice, and Habitat for Humanity.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Wednesday from 3 to 8 PM, with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 PM.
