Dolores was born to Morris and Ruth (Berry) Petersen on August 2, 1924 in Fremont. She grew up on a farm north of Fremont on Rosedale Road, and later moved with her family to a farm northwest of Fremont.

Delores was married to Derwyn McDuffee, and they later divorced. She has lived all her life in the Fremont area, and was a homemaker until the late 1960's. Then she worked in several area restaurants, including the Tally Ho in downtown Fremont and Marcy's Café. Following her retirement, she volunteered with the Low Income Ministry.

She was a member of the Bluffs Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors: 2 sons John (and wife Denise) McDuffee of Scribner
James (and wife Jeri) McDuffee of Mechanicsville, Virginia
4 grandchildren- Justin, McDuffee, Chris McDuffee, Angie McDuffee, and Jennifer McDuffee
5 great grandchildren
2 brothers Gerald Petersen of Fremont
Wesley (and wife Alice Mae) Petersen of Schuyler
nieces and nephews
Dolores was preceded in death by a granddaughter, brother Roland Petersen, 2 sisters-in-law, and her parents.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday (Febr. 5, 2014) at the Bluffs Trinity Lutheran Church (northwest of Fremont) with Pastor Sean Tyler. The committal will follow in the Bluffs Cemetery. Memorials will be directed by the family. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Tuesday from 3 to 8 PM.

    So sorry to hear of your loss. May the Lord comfort you at this time.
    Am thinking that her husband was also known as "Bud", if so he was Grandpa's nephew. Harry W Christensen. Also related to Asa McDuffee and Dorothy his daughter. Have lost track of much of the family. Would go with Grandpa and spend time with the boys when a child when Grandpa went to help Bud on the farm. She was always a wonderful lady.
