at Methodist Hospital in Omaha

Darrell was born March 15, 1948 in Norfolk, NE. to Joseph and Wanda 'Sporleder' Story. He spent part of his childhood in Mead before moving to Fremont. Darrell graduated from Fremont High School in 1966. After high school he attended technical school in Mildford. Darrell worked in Kansas City before being married on August 31, 1968 to Faye Hinken. Shortly after their marriage they returned to Fremont and Darrell began his long career working for the City of Fremont.

Darrell was an avid coin collector. He loved to draw and spend time on his acreage near Ames. Darrell was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Cindy and husband Merv Heiden of Blair
Sister-in-law Karen Wong of Omaha

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Wanda; Sister Judy and Brother-in-law Dave Hinken.

The funeral will be Thursday 2pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue 1 hour before the service at the church.
