Tony was born September 24, 1926 to Charles and Theresa 'Kramer' Ahrndt in Scribner and grew up in rural Scribner. He enlisted in the army in 1945. After being discharged from the army, he met and married Merrilyn Swanson on May 22, 1949. They made their residence in Hooper for their entire lives. Tony and Merrilyn had two daughters; Michele and Adrienne. For many years Tony drove the gas truck for Farmers Coop in Hooper, he then worked and retired from Fauss construction.

Tony and Merrilyn owned Ahrndt's Variety Store for many years. He also loved construction especially remodeling their own home. He was always willing to help anyone else with odd jobs. He loved fishing and his dog Clyde. Tony loved spending time with family and friends, taking his family on vacations where many happy memories were made. He served on the Hooper Volunteer Fire Department, was an active member of the American Legion, VFW, and a member of the Faith Methodist Church of Hooper.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a jokester to all.

Tony is survived by two daughters, Michele D. Richards of Hooper, Ne; Adrienne J.Capek and husband Larry of Milligan, Ne. 7 grandchildren; Blake and Beth Richards of Guthrie Ok, Toni Richards and fiance Chris of Oakland, Ne.; Casandra Richards of Choctaw,Ok; Raegan and Dave Brown of Lincoln, Ne.; Chelsey and Grant Anderson of Omaha, Ne.; Jordan and Chris Krueger of Mound City Missouri, Traci and Jordan Uldrich of Fairmont, Ne. 11 great grandchildren. Brother-in-law Harry Hammrick of Reno, Nevada; Sister-in-law Christie Hammrick of Kankakee, Illinois. Many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Merrilyn and Clyde (family pet), brothers Karl and Martin and wife Serena, sisters Sophie and husband Lumir and Minnie. Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law Carolyn and Del.

The memorial service will be 1pm Saturday at the Faith Methodist Church in Hooper. Burial will be at a later date in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Milligan, NE. Memorials are suggested to the church. Military Honors by the American Legion Post #18 and VFW Post 10535 both of Hooper will be rendered at the church. There is no public visitation.
