He owned and operated a Conoco station and later worked in the Insurance industry with Farm Bureau Insurance and also for Investors of Nebraska. For four years, while in Auburn, he owned and operated a restaurant (Wheel 'R Inn). In 1973, he and his family moved to Scribner, NE where he managed the Scribner Insurance Agency. Under his management, the agency expanded and grew to become a leading business on Scribner's Main Street. He retired in 2008. Arnie married Donnetta Scholl in June, 1996. Arnie was active in many community activities: Auburn: Jayees, Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. Scribner: City Council, Chamber of Commerce, Councilman for United Evangelical Lutheran Church, President of Elkhorn Valley Golf Course, Scribner Masonic Lodge, long-time member of the Scribner Volunteer Fire and Rescue and served as Civil Defense Director. He was also a member of the Hooper Investment Club, and was on the Board of Directors for Scribner Bank. Parade and was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award at the 2010 Chamber Banquet. Arnie leaves behind a legacy that will certainly live on for generations to come.
