Shirley was a homemaker and loved to take care of her flowers and garden. She also enjoyed dancing and loved to bake, winning many awards at the state fair. She was extremely proud of being a Red Cross Volunteer at the Fremont Area Medical Center for over 35 years.
Shirley was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont, the American Legion Auxiliary in Colon and was a former member of the Dandy Dozen Extension Club.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Donald, Dorothy, Merlin, Kenneth and Hugo Jr.
The funeral will be 10:30am Tuesday, February 11 at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Matt Knopf will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel will be Monday from 3pm to 7pm with the family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm. Visitation will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
