Phyllis E. Eichmeier, age 82, of Fremont
died in Fremont Friday evening (January 2nd).

Phyllis was born January 19, 1932 in Fremont to Dwight and Edna (Appel) Bridgman. She attended school in Dodge County and also the Hooper High School until the 10th grade, then moved with her parents to Cedar Bluffs. Phyllis graduated from Cedar Bluffs High School, where she met Gordon Eichmeier, who became her husband on December 31, 1950 in the Presbyterian Church in Cedar Bluffs. She attended Midland College in Fremont, and taught country school for 2 years.

Phyllis and Gordon moved to Fremont in 1972, and she worked for the Fremont National Bank for 20 years. After they both retired, they took their camper south for 17 winters. After that, they camped in the local area during the summer months.

The Eichmeier's were member of The Presbyterian Church in Fremont where they were active in the church's Mariner's and Phyllis was involved in the Presbyterian Women. She taught Sunday School for several years. Phyllis and Gordon were also members of the Eagles Camping Club.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and her brother William.

Janell and husband Kevin Pohlen of Lincoln
5 grandchildren
6 great grandchildren
2 brothers Leonard and wife Carol Bridgman of Belleville, Kansas
Lee and wife Mardel Bridgman of Omaha

A memorial service will be 2 PM Tuesday (Jan. 6th) at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Earl Underwood.
Memorials may be directed to the family for distribution. Ludvigsen Mortuary is assisting the family.
